Jamaican Patties
Warren, one of the owners, is Jamaican, and has been longing to make his own patties for a while now. Never having done it, but knowing what the flavours should be, the patties at The Piggy Market started in August of 2009. They are made fresh, with local ingredients, and hand made pastry.
At the moment, we carry three flavours of Jamaican Patties:
Beef Patties: Using O'Brien beef, seasoned traditionally, with scotch bonnet peppers.
Curry Chicken Patties: Jerk Rotisserie chicken, with Dave's Curry Powder.
Calaloo and Potato Patties: Calaloo locally grown by Colin Samuels at Jambican Studio Gardens. These are a seasonal patty.
Jamaican Patties are available most Fridays, but not always. Look for them on the daily specials blackboard at the top of the page to see if they're around.
